About the Village

The Village of Hunt Glen is Granby’s first Active Adult Neighborhood. It is situated in the quiet southeast corner of the town, surrounded by trees and close to beautiful hiking paths, cool streams and waterfalls and surrounded by its own walking path. The Village is convenient to local shops and markets as well. This private enclave provides carefree living at its best.  Residents enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of country living in beautifully built New England style homes.

The  32 acre Village is home to 69 condominiums with a centrally located clubhouse accessed through an open and inviting lobby. The 52 buildings that make up the complex include 18 duplex townhouses and 33 free-standing ranch units. There are 7 different models within the Village providing diversity in architectural design that is apparent as you drive along the quiet streets.

All homes provide the option of one floor living including a master bedroom with private bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, dining room and living room areas with an open floor plan and attached 2 car garage all on the main floor. Each unit has at least one guest bedroom with guest bath (some are on the first floor, others are on the second floor).

All homes have a rear deck and a full basement with either a walkout entrance or a hatch-way access. Many homes have a gas fireplace.  Some homes also have a four-season sunroom or screened porch.

Because this is a common interest community, ownership applies only to the home and not the exterior yard or grounds. There are 69 units and therefore each unit owner essentially owns 1/69th of the 32 acres of developed land. Owners personalize the interiors of their homes and enjoy the freedom of condominium life when it comes to the beautiful exteriors. This is truly a “turn the key and go” community for those who wish to have the freedom to come and go as they please, letting someone else worry about mowing,  fertilizing, raking and shoveling.

The Village At Hunt Glen - History

The Village at Hunt Glen Condominium Association (VHGCA) is incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Connecticut for the purpose of operating and maintaining the common property.  The Association was established in April 2003 when construction of the complex began.  The initial units were sold and occupied in the fall of 2003 and the last of 69 units were sold and occupied by mid-2006.  At that time the developer relinquished his remaining interest in the association to the resident board of directors.
